Day 1
Afternoon non-stop flight by British Airways from London Heathrow to Cairo. On arrival you will be met by our representative and taken direct to the Mena Garden Oberoi Hotel, the nearest hotel to the Pyramids of Giza. You may request a guaranteed Pyramid View Room at the Mena Garden for a special price of £45 per person for 3 nights (double or single).

Day 2
We have left the time in Cairo free. Our representatives can offer a variety of optional excursions in and around this great city. Not to be missed are the Great Pyramids and Sphinx at Giza, easily reached from your hotel, the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities in the centre of Cairo, and the superb monuments at ancient Memphis and Saqqara.

Day 4
Fly to Luxor and embark on the Zahra, your exclusive ‘dahabiyya’, for a relaxing week spent sailing on the Nile.

Day 5
The Bales Worldwide flag will flutter proudly above the Zahra, your home for the next week. The detailed day to day itinerary has been left flexible to allow us to make the shore visits at our own pace, taking into consideration the interests of our small group of passengers. The Zahra will travel under sail, or with the current, and the engines will only be used should there be no wind. During the voyage you will visit the major sites listed at the end of the itinerary. In addition, you will visit less frequented monuments and enjoy field excursions. In the evening the dahabiyya will moor on the banks of the Nile, beside a village or in the open countryside.

This morning bid farewell to the crew of the Zahra. There is the option of visiting the temples of Abu Simbel by air before taking the flight back to Cairo. Afternoon and overnight at the Mena Garden Oberoi Hotel.
